Online Return Policy

Returns, refunds and exchanges for full priced online purchases will be gladly accepted where:

•  The goods have not been worn, altered, or washed and are in a saleable condition
•  The goods have all original tags attached
•  The goods are returned within the time frame stated below

If you wish to return an item please contact strictly within 7 days of receiving your order to receive a return approval number (RA). .


  • Your return must be posted strictly within 7 days of the date of delivery within Australia, or 14 days for international orders (no slower than registered air mail).
  • Your return MUST include your RA number.
  • Returns and exchanges must be posted back at the customer’s expense. Alterior Motif cannot take responsibility for missing incoming deliveries so we recommend using a traceable form of shipping. Return shipping charges are not refundable
  • In the case of exchanging an item, outward shipping will not be charged on your first exchange. 
  • If you are shipping a faulty item, a refund will be given upon inspection of the item and outgoing postage will be refunded. All footwear must include the original shoebox in its original condition, without postal labels.

Alterior Motif reserves the right to refuse a return if the above criteria, is not met.

Returns may take up to 14 days to be processed; you will receive a notification email once this happens.


If you are requesting a refund we will credit your nominated bank account via the gateway you made payment with.
Please note: refund does not include postage cost. The item/s price will be refunded only.

Un-returnable Goods

For hygiene reasons, we cannot offer exchanges or refunds on pierced jewellery or swimwear.

Sale Items

Sale items are not eligible for refund, return or exchange.


Afterpay Returns

Alterior Motif will happily exchange your purchase for a different size or issue you with a credit note that is valid for 12 months.
Refunds will be issued when;

•  Alterior Motif cannot provide you with your desired size for an exchange

•  Where the product is faulty

•  The refund will be for the price of the item minus 10%

Online orders with in-store pick-up may also return or exchange their order in-store. However an RA must be obtained beforehand by emailing

Online Credit Note

Online credit notes can be issued as a coupon code. Online credit notes must be used in a single transaction and the order amount must be equal to or more than the credit note amount.
